Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is a therapeutic approach that has been shown to improve socially significant behaviors in all areas of development for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other behavioral challenges. These areas include communication, social emotional adjustment, adaptive behaviors, fine motor skills, and cognition. ABA practitioners teach skills systematically, using principles of learning theory in order to bring about meaningful and positive changes in behavior. They create environments that help children with ASD learn new skills, and learn how to apply those skills to daily routine. Some children who receive ABA therapy are successfully mainstreamed into regular classrooms.
